The iCanStrut Story… There was a young lady who really loved shoes. She was single with three children. What could she do? She worked, sacrificed and got her degree, and she raised honor students… that’s right, all three! When the time came to shop for the perfect pair, she was often disappointed. Finding good quality, high style and a low price was rare. This young lady matured, married her KING, and found her stride. Actually, it was a STRUT- on life’s catwalk, she high-stepped with pride. She worked in the footwear industry and learned all she could. Then she founded iCanStrut.com because no matter the budget, every woman should be well-shoed. Before exploring her entrepreneurial abilities, Joy King, founder of iCanstrut.com, amassed more than six years experience in the footwear industry while tending to the needs of her children and earning her Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Missouri, St. Louis. As a result, she not only honed her multitasking skills, but also learned everything about manufacturing, marketing and selling footwear. During the early years, Joy’s limited finances restricted her ability to buy the shoes she really liked and required her to spend a great deal of time going from store to store in search of styles that fit her feet, her taste and her budget. As her career progressed, and her earnings increased, she never forgot her former shopping frustrations and realized that she could help other women avoid them. She also wanted to inspire her children and other women to march steadfastly toward their goals and desires, while reminding them that she understood their struggles.

In 2009, Joy launched iCanstrut.com out of not only a love for fashionable shoes, but also a passion for providing fashionable, on-trend footwear to women with various levels of spending power. She realized that while diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, her shoes are her support system, and finding the perfect pair at the right price can be a day-maker.
